Setting up shop in the Cadogan building on the corner of Belcher's Street, Vanimal is that rare creature in Hong Kong’s foodie scene – a vegetarian restaurant. Given vegetarianism’s marginal status in the so-called culinary cosmopolis, perhaps it’s fitting that Vanimal finds itself way out west in Kennedy Town – but that’s not going to stop a horde of hungry and green-thumbed diner knocking down this eatery’s door for a table. This is non-meat eating elevated to truly gourmet heights, with expert chefs preparing dishes – from homemade pickles and tapas-style small plates to big sharers, main courses and the ‘daily catch’ specials – that are packed with sensational flavour, texture and colour. Really enjoyed this restaurant. It's great to go to a veggie restaurant which is stylish but produces inventive and delicious choices. Also very good value for money and great service
The food and cocktails were amazing! We really loved it. The staff was also really friendly. I recommend Vanimal to everyone, especially if you're vegetarian and have never experienced a more creative restaurant.
