About Umi Japanese Restaurant 瀛舍
More about the restaurant: Umi Japanese Restaurant 瀛舍
It’s already well known among parts of Hong Kong’s Japanese community so you may have to book ahead, but if you’re looking for authentic but easy Japanese food in Tsuen Wan you can’t do much better than Umi Japanese Restaurant. The sushi and sashimi showcase succulent seafood, of course, but the menu at Umi stretches way further than slippery salmon and soy sauce. If you’re with a group try one of their fantastic share platters to sample the lot, or go for one of their rich, aromatic soups – the mixed seafood milk pot is unlike much else you would’ve tried before, while the beef pot and crab congee are perhaps more familiar though no less delicious. If you’re looking for a healthy lunch inside the Tai Hung Fai Centre on Chung On Street, a prawn or tomato salad from Umi Japanese will certainly do the trick, or if you’re trying to impress somebody after dark then fresh oysters, beautifully presented tea cup soup sets and some aesthetically striking vegetable rolls should help.
