More about the restaurant: The Flying Pan - Central

This is an American diner as it should be – open 24/7 and serving a straightforward selection of classics for hungry Hong Kong diners at prices that won’t break the bank. The Flying Pan family is on the up and up in the city, with one location in Wan Chai and another here in the Soho neighbourhood of Central. It’s perhaps ironic that this iconic American restaurant has chosen to situate itself in that most British precinct – you can find it along Old Bailey Street of all places – but it’s all stars and stripes (and eggs, so many eggs) here.

Eggs. How many ways can you crack an egg and cook it? If you like eggs, The Flying Pan has your favourite hen byproduct down pat – scrambled, over easy, over hard, sunny side up, poached – and combined in a score of fabulous ways with plenty of classic American diner sides and bready goodness – white and wheat toast, English muffins, French croissants, pancakes, biscuits, bagels, and cinnamon rolls, plus mushrooms, spinach, asparagus, avocado, veggie and meaty sausages, smoked salmon, shrimp, British black pudding, grilled steak, bacon, ham, beef burger, corned beef… the list goes on. Take a look, and a bite, for yourself at The Flying Pan’s Soho-Central restaurant.

Being an all nite kinda guy, The Flying Pan naturally offers Hong Kong’s owls and morning larks a reliable line in bottomless cups of coffee to wash all that American diner fare down the traditional way. We like our coffee black as midnight on a moonless night, but you can get the good oil any which way you like, or opt instead for a smoothie, ice cream float or shake, a buzzshake or cocktail for big kids (bacon, eggs, and a Bloody Mary are perfect if you find yourself stranded after a night out in Soho). Wing your way to The Flying Pan down Old Bailey Street in Hong Kong’s Central – book in advance to make sure you don’t miss your flight.
