Sushi Sase 鮨 佐瀬

We had a great night at Sushi Sase! Everything was great!

The sushi lunch is always high quality at Sushi Sase.

The lunch set is always very enjoyable with high quality fish.

The flow was a bit rushed and slightly disorganised. Tamagoyaki was traditionally to be served at the end of the meal as dessert but we were served that first before our last unagi sushi and miso soup dishes. Left a bit hungry even after spending $1100 per person. Quality of the fish was very good though. But nonetheless for the price tag, precision is expected.

We had the sushi lunch set, it was exceptional ! Great food, super fresh and excellent service.

the quality of the food has declined since my last visit to the hollywood rd site and in the ice house st restaurant the seats are ridiculously close together

I told them it was a birthday dinner when I reserved the table. But the restaurant hasn't shown any gesture of goodwill which most restaurants will do.

The atmosphere is great, had a great chat with the "chef", where he describe the food we are having.

The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the food. We have been to Sushi Sase many times and this time the food was a disappointment. For the price we pay, the sushi were very average and it felt like the chef was trying to rush us to finish. He served our sushi way too fast, didn't really have time to enjoy the food and the next piece was on the serving table. We finished a 12-piece sushi meal in 35 mins... That's crazy.

The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding; very accommodating and thoughtful.

I would expect better quality of sushi and quality of interactions at this price point. The restaurant was occasionally chaotic with garbage even being dragged through the main dining room at the end of my meal — highly u professional and not sanitary. The Sushi chef did not seem to have much passion for what he was doing. The food was ok, but just ok.

High quality sushi that rivals the best in Japan but at double the price. Is it justifiable? That is the question diners should ask.
