Sole Mio has been going strong in Hong Kong’s Soho for over 15 years, serving peerless Italian cuisine prepared from time-honoured recipes. Go the classical route and order up a three-course storm comprising Sole Mio’s signature dishes and a glass or two of carefully-selected wine (just ask the staff for their recommendations), indulge in proper Neapolitan pizza, drop in on the weekend for a lazy brunch, or simply prop yourself up with friends and cocktails and take in some live music. Find the authentic Sole Mio experience along Elgin Street.
Come on in to Sole Mio from 7:30pm Thursday through to Sunday and be serenaded by local musical duo Due Amici while you dine – the perfect backdrop to some of Hong Kong’s most comprehensively authentic Italian cuisine. The happy hours get even happier when you know that if you drop by the restaurant’s central Soho location between 6pm and 8pm Tuesday through to Saturday you can enjoy half-price sundowner drinks and complimentary antipasti. Sole Mio do a great job at keeping the dining calendar full, going so far as to offer a three-course brunch over weekend and public holidays, with the option of free-flow prosecco – and children under ten eat for free!
Digging deeper into what has made Sole Mio’s Elgin Street address the default destination for many of Hong Kong’s Italian food fans, the motherlode is without a doubt the signature dishes created by head chef Victor and his team, whose encyclopaedic knowledge of authentic Italian cuisine imports the rustic simple flavours of the bel paese right into the heart of Soho. Here, the antipasti e insalate, pizze, pasta e risotti, secondi piatti, and dolci are pure rays of Mediterranean sunshine. Be sure to book a table, especially if you’re dining – as you ought to be – with a big group of friends and family.
So good. Can’t be better. Good menu plus buffet; free flow drinks; awesome restaurant. Family friendly. Good location, very close to the mid levels escalator.
Great food, lovely staff and really nice feel to the place. Great location in Hong Kong Central too. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will return.
Their pastas and crispy, thin based pizzas never disappoint! We always go for the spaghetti Amatriciana and Capricciosa pizza. Friendly staff and attentive service. A hidden gem for lovers of Italian food.
Me and friend really had a great time and we both enjoyed the thin crust pizza . All staff were welcoming, attentive to our orders, even manager was very helpful. Overwhelmed by the service will pay visit again ☺️
My second visit to Sole Mio & I received a very warm welcome from the staff. Food was excellent & such a friendly ambiance. They are currently without a liquor licence, but sent me an email the previous evening, to say that we could bring our own alcohol. A thoroughly enjoyable experience :)
Especially for New years eve, I highly appreciated that the prices weren't jacked up a ridiculous amount, but they provided the regular menu. The owner was also very friendly and caring, and I think both of these are a testament to him. The food itself was also really great, however, I gave it a 5 instead of a 6 just because I've eaten at other places at the same price point which I feel serve even better food, but, I would totally come back. Overall, TL;DR - Great prices, fantastic service and good food!
The menu has plenty to choose from with great variety. The food is excellent with very nice presentation and the attentive, personal service is particularly refreshing these days! Have definitely placed Sole Mio on our list of favourite restaurants in HK.
Had a relaxing and delicious weekend brunch there. Staff are friendly and helpful. Environment is very nice - good for people who want to have a chat with friends/family. I love the parma ham there (especially when it is all-you-can-eat). Good quality and reasonable price - can't beat in SoHo area.
The food and service were good, we enjoyed it so much. I will go to Sole Mio again and will recommend it to my friend.
Staff are very friendly, though it was a little disappointing that they don't have a liquor licence. Still, they let us bring our own booze in without corkage. At least it was a cheaper evening that way! Very good food overall, though the fish we ordered was considerably overcooked.
