Yep, there are no secrets here – this place does it soupy, and they do it spicy! Hong Kong’s New Territories certainly have no shortage of eateries for authentic Cantonese hotpot, but if you want something with a bit more zing than your standard we can recommend Sichuan Hotpot in Yuen Long. Just a short walk from Long Ping MTR, Sichuan Hotpot takes some influence from the famously fiery culinary canon of Chinese cuisine, with plenty of chilli to bob around in your broth. However, it’s not all tongue-tingling here, and those with a low spice tolerance will find plenty of mouthwatering morsels, from springy fresh herbs and marbled beef strips to enhance the hotpot broth to sweet stuffed rice balls for dessert. Conveniently close to Yuen Long Stadium and Yuen Long Park on Kau Yuk Road, Sichuan Hotpot is well worth a try, especially for spice lovers.
