Sher-E-Punjab is a great choice for travellers on a budget looking for some quality South Asian food while in Hong Kong. Specialists in Indian and Nepalese cuisine, Sher-E-Punjab offer a wide range of authentic, traditional dishes at great prices compared with other restaurants around Tsim Sha Tsui. It’s no-frills and fuss-free, but this cosy space at Chungking Mansions is a safe bet to fill up on very good Indian without dipping too far into the funds. You can find basically any Indian favourite at Sher-E-Punjab, from pakoras and onion bhajis to aloo chat, tandoori chicken and fish tikka. A simple, cheap but highly recommended house specialty is the masala papadam, which ups the usual crunchy flatbread with a bit of kick and colour.
