Given the current climate, many authorities are placing restrictions on restaurant openings. We are continuously updating the availability of our partners to reflect these measures. Learn how to support your local restaurants.
When one thinks of the European cuisine on offer in Hong Kong, traditionally the mind turns to the superb Italian and French restaurants, to the British dishes that are a legacy of the colonial period and the many hip tapas bars that have sprung up all over the city. What often goes unmentioned is the German food on offer, but at Schnee German Restaurant in Shau Kei Wan, they have some of the finest Deutsch dining to be found anywhere in Hong Kong. They have a typically Teutonic selection of pork: roast knuckles with sauerkraut and potatoes, bratwursts and weisswurst with with mustard and pretzels and the Swabian speciality of Black Forest ham. Wash it down with one of their many German beers – wheat beer, dark beer and pilsner are among the local favourites on Shau Kei Wan Main Street East – and you’re well on the way to a fine Feierabend feast in Hong Kong.
