About Samurai Okonomiyaki 武士御好味燒
More about the restaurant: Samurai Okonomiyaki 武士御好味燒
Inconspicuously tucked away a few blocks from Temple Street Night Market and the buss of Yau Ma Tei, stumbling upon Samurai Okonomiyaki would be a fortuitous occurrence for any Japanese food lover in Hong Kong. Luckily, you don’t have to rely on the minimal chance of stumbling across it because now you know it’s on Man Ying Street, not far from Austin or Jordan MTR stations. It’s a tiny place, just one room with cosy tables and an open kitchen where you can watch the impressive chef at work. Aficionados will already know from the name, but the signature dish of Samurai Okonomiyaki is a savoury Japanese pancake piled high with fresh vegetables, rich sauces and succulent shredded meat, topped off with a fried egg. As well as the unforgettable okonomiyaki there are plenty of small plates, Japanese beers and hearty noodle dishes, so make it your local and explore a bit more on return visits!
