There’s a lot of mystery behind the name Salt Recipes. Is all of the food salty, or is everything cured? It’s not quite so simple – Salt Recipes in Hong Kong’s Yuen Long is a restaurant that specialises in Nordic cuisine, and with that comes the use of numerous all-natural sea salts. This hip restaurant makes use of six different salts in their recipes, including Persian blue salt, Hawaiian black lava salt, Himalayan pink salt, Danish smoked salt, Hawaiian volcanic red clay salt and Bretagne grey salt. Each salt features its own flavour profile that puts a unique spin on the cuisine. Recommended dishes at Salt Recipes include any of the seafood dishes such as the Norwegian baked fish pie, the beer battered fish and fries, the garlicky clams with herbs and parsley and the salt-crusted whole fresh branzino fish. To enjoy the authentic flavours of Scandinavia, visit Salt Recipes on the second floor of YOHO Mall on Yuen Lung Street.
