Given the current climate surrounding COVID-19, many authorities are placing restrictions on social gatherings. In the best interest of everyone’s safety, we are continuously updating the availability of our partner restaurants to reflect these measures. We encourage people to still support the restaurant industry in other ways.Learn how
The number of Japanese eateries dotted along Hennessy Road can – like much else in Causeway Bay – get a little overwhelming if you don’t really know what you’re looking for. So, safest bet seems to head where the locals go, in this case the locals being Japanese businessmen, expats and tourists who flock to Robatayaki I CHI BAN early in the evening to nab a place. Robatayaki I CHI BAN is small and intimate, but it’s casually classy, with some cool and quirky decoration. Sure, elbow room can be fairly limited around the bar, but that’s part of the fun with this style of dining, picking at plates of grilled-in-front-of-you seafood, salty edamame beans or succulent sushi while enjoying a replenishing drink and good catch up with friends.
We were the only customer last night and the food was not good. It used to be a very good restaurant. I am very disappointed. I am hesitated to order too much food because I worried that the food might not be fresh.
Never let me up. Great ambience, service attentive despite a full house. Food is delicious. At the end, many items were sold out but we still left with a full stomach and big smile. Love the cat too
Ichiban is one of our favorite hangout spots. Food remains authentic after.moved and reopened. Love the cooked dishes and had amazing roasted porkloin in miso sauce.
