The Greek-Australian chef and restaurateur David Laris has earned celebrity chef status around the globe with award-winning restaurants Le Sheng, The Fat Olive, and 12 Chairs. His work can be seen through collaborations with major brands Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel, but you can experience his cooking ability for yourself while dining Porterhouse by Laris in the Lan Kwai Fong neighbourhood of Hong Kong’s Central, where only the very best ingredients are hand-selected for his restaurant’s discerning guests. The meat used at this gourmet steakhouse is of the highest standard, including cuts of Linz Heritage USDA, A4 Wagyu from Japan and Tasmanian grass-fed beef, and it’s aged to bring out the best possible flavour. As you may have already assumed, the wine selection is outstanding, and features a selection of varietals from across the globe that pair perfectly with the food on offer.

The menu at Porterhouse by Laris in Central goes above and beyond the average steakhouse menu, featuring a wide range of seafood dishes, European classics and decadent gourmet desserts. Starters like the pan-fried foie gras with toasted brioche, chili and date puree or the arugula & pickled beet salad pave the way for main courses like the 14oz Cape Grim Tasmanian rib-eye, the 8oz triple-seared A4 Wagyu and the 20oz Kansas City striploin. Up the ante by adding honey-glazed double smoked bacon or Canadian lobster tail to your steak, or simply choose from other mains like confit duck leg, bucatini pasta with burrata or slow-cooked Sakura chicken with spiced tomato and lime chutney. Desserts like baby shiraz-poached pears and Madagascar chocolate fondant are an absolute must before leaving this superlative steakhouse at Hong Kong’s California Tower on D’Aguilar Street. Porterhouse by Laris is an excellent restaurant. The steaks are terrific, the staff are helpful and very friendly and the tables are well spread out so you can have a conversation with your lunch/dinner guests instead of with the entire restaurant. Highly recommended... a great ambiance.

The Porterhouse steak was tasteless, mushy, poorly seared and over priced. The staff was under trained on what the various cuts of meat are and tried to bluff their way through questions. They also tried to hustle you into buying starters as they said it would take 45 minutes to cook the steak. It only took 26 minutes. All in all not a nice experience and I will not go back.

I actually been there couple times for dinner and it was good, this is the first time i tried the Oyster Monday and they served the Coffin Bay oysters which I'm not a big fan of. Service was not as good sitting at the bar are. It was definitely much better service if you were dining there.

One of the best steakhouses in HK. Excellent wine list and service. Recommend the scallop cerviche, Mac n cheese , the oysters and of course the lady's cut as a side. Wide variety of steaks to choose from.

Best minestrone I ever tried, main dish is considered big portion. Overall speaking, nice food, nice atmosphere and attending service. Recommended to family and large group of friends
