For an irresistible mix of artisan-quality Japanese cuisine and chic contemporary dining, a visit to NOJO Ramen Tavern in Hong Kong is a must. Open for lunch and until late every night, this restaurant on Pottinger Street in Central has been making waves ever since opening in early 2019. The speciality here is Paitan-style ramen, which has a rich chicken-based broth. Our favourites are the spicy dandan or soy sauce varieties, but if we’re honest, anything from NOJO’s menu will delight the senses with umami complexity. There’s everything from oden and sashimi to izakaya-style nibbles and tempura. As well as the moreish food, guests can expect beer, shochu, cocktails and sake. With its sophisticated dining room, outdoor patio and welcoming service, NOJO Ramen Tavern really is modern dining in Hong Kong at it’s best. Advance bookings are highly recommended.

Staff could be better trained to be more knowledgeable about the menu. Service was average outside of that.
