The original UK Argie pub, Moo Cantina, found its home down Vauxhall Bridge Road in Pimlico back in 2013. It’s one of three in London, and this outlet sports wicked, bright interior design, a beer garden, and, of course fantastic Argentinian eats, ensuring that Moo Cantina Pimlico attracts a crowd of loyal followers. Food, wine, desserts, and cocktails are all given a signature Moo Cantina, Argentine twist here, and it’s the Argentinian way – sharing and socialising – that brings all four elements, plus yourselves, family, and friends, together for a great sunbathed lunch or dinner after dark.
Resucita al peregrino! declares the enigmatic mural in Moo Cantina Pimlico,
just one of the many curious decorations that adorn the fun and funky Vauxhall
Bridge Road premises that this pioneering Argentinian pub occupies. The full
proverb is El buen vino resucita al peregrino, good wine revives the pilgrim,
and if ever there was a chance to test such a directive, here’s the place. Moo
Cantina’s wine list is impressive, but far from intimidating. Shedding the pretentious
trappings of upscale dining is part of Moo Cantina’s mandate, and the wine list
reflects this by being informative but affordable. The focus, naturally, is on
Argentinian wine – choose from reds that run the gamut from light and fruity to full
and robust, or a vibrant, honeysuckle-perfumed white such as the Dominio del Toyo.
Moo house cocktails like the Bloody Moo, the vanilla-infused Sweet Moo or the very
South American Moo Mate, made with yerba mate, keep your insides sunny no
matter the weather. And there’s a host of international craft beers available too,
including bottles from the venerable Argentine brewery Quilmes, chilled and ready
for the quaffing by London’s ardent hop heads.
While we could wax lyrical about the bevvies on offer at Moo Cantina Pimlico for an age, most pilgrims make their way to Vauxhall Bridge Road for the delicious Argentinian street food. There’s something of a craze for Argentine grills in London at the moment, and no one does it better than Moo Cantina Pimlico. Besides luscious steaks, tuck into lomitos, warm gourmet Argentinian sandwiches, or empanadas, stuffed pastries best attacked with both hands. Olives and bread with chimichurri fill the short gap between grabbing a seat at Moo’s long shared tables and the main event, while classic, rustic dishes on the hoof offer a less carnivorous alternative to the succulent, typically meaty, Argentinian cuisine that Moo Cantina Pimlico specialises in. Moo Cantina Pimlico is keen for your feedback, so why not join their team of mystery guests and enjoy free wining and dining Argentine style in return for your honest opinions!
Great food, large portions, perfect menu, fantastic service and fun drinks menu. Outside dining is a big plus! We will be back and will tell others.
I love moo cantina. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks and a lovely Mediterranean atmosphere. The table was ready at 5:45 even though I’d booked it for 6pm. Great service!
