In hops we trust – the perfect motto for an old-school taproom pub stocking more craft beers on tap or in bottles than you can shake a faucet at. The boldly named Kowloon Taproom can be found in the Astoria Building down Ashley Road, moments from Tsim Sha Tsui and Kowloon Park to the north. There are plenty of international beers on offer for those Hong Kong hopheads who like a traditional pilsner or a Japanese brew, but this bar is also a rare advocate for local brewers like Kowloon Bay, Mak’s, Young Master Ales, Hong Kong Beer Company, Gweilo, and many more besides. The taps at Kowloon Taproom are changed regularly and, if you’re feeling indecisive, you can go for the tasting flight and sample four types for a great price.
Friendly staff with detailed explanation on different kinds of craft beers. You can experience various special taste beer. Though there isn't many choices for food, all of them are really up to standard.
A variety choice of local draft beer, which is worth to try. Staff can give you some recommendations about the beer. Food is not bad and is in a good portion.
Many kinds of local craft beers, good vibe, good food and nice staff. However, that place is pretty small, make sure you make a reservation in advance.
Quite a chilled place, good for people watching especially on a rainy day! However, the beers on tap are not quite to my liking.
Only good if you are in tst nearby and want a quite bar to chit chat.
