A hip Nepalese restaurant and bar in Hong Kong’s Central, Johnny Gurkha is quickly gaining ground as one of the city’s coolest hangout spots. This Soho hotspot is inviting and family-run, providing guests with an intimate location and a friendly vibe that’s unlike anywhere else. Known for their momo – tasty Nepalese dumplings that are filled with various different vegetables and meats – Johnny Gurkha elevates traditional dining in a way that puts importance on the past while being open to present trends. The restaurant is also known for their great martinis and cocktails, as well as draught beer and plenty of great snack to go along with them – take an order of the pork chilli, chicken lollies, yak cheese or sukuti, an incredible smoked buffalo jerky from Nepal.
This was one of my favorite restaurants in Hong Kong! I loved the mo mo's and pig trotters but unfortunately they had to shut down due to high rent.
