Thinking about making a Jashan Indian Cuisine booking?

Jashan, part of the Uppal Hospitality Group (UHG), was the first Indian restaurant in Hong Kong to appear in the Michelin guide, and the restaurant has only grown in stature since then. The kitchen team are rightly proud of their contemporary Indian food and seek to surprise diners with their innovative takes on classic favourites. For starters we recommend sharing amritsari paneer pakoda (cottage cheese fritters) and aloo tikki chana chat (pan-fried potatoes with chickpeas) with your date to get into the swing of things. When it comes to main courses, you might be well advised to ask for some help from Jashan’s knowledgeable wait staff who are more than pleased to guide diners through this labyrinthine menu. If all else fails, opt for the house specialty – Bombay tawa chicken – you won’t be disappointed. If you somehow still have some room, we recommend trying the gulab jamum (fried dumplings in a sugar reduction and rose water) that are both delicious and beautiful.

There can be no doubt about the scale of ambition in the kitchen and dining room at Hollywood Road’s star restaurant. The kitchen staff at Jashan in Central Hong Kong consistently deliver food worthy of the Michelin guide, but there’s plenty of front-of-house touches that assure diners that Jashan’s world class talents are not restricted to the plate. The dining room is a sumptuously upholstered space, in vivid vermillion and gold, tastefully designed to foster intimacy between diners. Of course, first and foremost Jashan is the home of great food, all accolades aside. Unusually for a restaurant of such serious ambition, there are plenty of promotions and offers here too. Aside from the much admired delivery menu (seriously, you can get this delivered) there’s a lunch and Sunday buffet to allow diners to sample some of everything from Jashan’s celebrated menu. Jashan is open daily.
