Specialising in kushikatsu, Jan Jan Kushikatsu is a haven for Hong Kong diners who like their food served on a skewer. The owner behind this trendy Wan Chai eatery is a lover of everything Japanese, and his restaurant showcases this passion, with stylish yet simplistic decor that has been imported from Japan alongside a menu of authentic Japanese cuisine. From prawns to chicken wrapped in shiso leaf, grilled chorizo, deep-fried kisu fish and chicken wings, you’ll find all sorts of delicious options served up on sticks at Jan Jan Kushikatsu. Wash it all down with some Japanese sake or some soju. You’ll find Jan Jan Kushikatsu on Queen’s Road East, book a table and find out what the hype is all about!
Great food and ambience! We ordered the Regular set plus additional a la carte orders to match the set as there were three of us. The staff made well recommendation as well.
We went to Jan Jan Kushikatsu on Sunday evening, 6pm, 20th November 2016. The food was amazing, and the staff were highly attentive. We were shown to our seats by somebody who was clearly passionate about the venue, and passionate about us trying the specials that were on. The garlic scallops that he recommended were absolutely amazing!
Really tasty food with a good selection of beer, sake and other drinks. Servers were prompt and attention. There's also a fun game at 10pm. Highly recommended!
very nice food.. very good services.. reasonable price.. it's a good place to have dinner with colleagues or friends after a day of hard work.. drink some beer or sake with fried food..
My friend and I enjoyed our time at this restaurant. The food was very tasty, the staff were very informative in explaining the different items on the menu and we did not have an issue using the Entertainer App. The food was pricey for the size of the portions, but this is a restaurant that pride's itself on quality over quantity. I would return again with a group of friends.
Unique high quality kushikatsu restaurant in Hong Kong. Jan Jan Kushikatsu provided high quality food and service that was very similar to restaurants in Japan.
Great restaurant; the food is very good, the decor very beautiful - very authentic! However, our reservation with Quandoo was not taken into account by the restaurant, lucky they had a table available, otherwise we would have been refused...
They keep Japan(Osaka) standard for the kushikatsu taste and quolity! But a bit pricey compare with Japan. It's usually kushikatsu is casual food/snack categories in Japan. Hopefully they will add more selections for the menu. Overall 4.5 raiting!
The vegetables from Japan are really fresh and great (Lotus Root, Asparagus, Shiitake, Onion). However, the meat (Angus Prime Ribeye beef, pork) needs improvement. I also love the chicken wing with sweet sauce and half-boiled egg.
Their food was really good. However they missed our order. This made us need to finish our food in less than half an hour in order not to be too late for work☹️
