About Ishiyama 石山日本料理
More about the restaurant: Ishiyama 石山日本料理
Somewhat tucked away on Lockhart Road, hidden behind SOGO if coming from Causeway Bay station, Ishiyama isn’t an obvious target for quick sushi and sashimi lunches. That could be to its benefit, because it means Ishiyama can focus on its real strength – serving satisfying, lovingly prepared, home-style Japanese food in small-plate izakaya style – rather than putting out plates of ready-to-grab-and-go nibbles. Make no mistake, Ishiyama does great sushi and sashimi, but sit down to a hearty white miso soup with konjac noodles and assorted seafood, cabbage-wrapped beef balls, konjac jelly, rustic snails or their juicy, silky fresh tofu and you’ll get a better idea of why lovers of the Japanese cuisine beyond raw fish should swing by Ishiyama.
