Himalaya Restaurant has a very welcoming exterior at the top of a long staircase, a boom of bright orange that seems to beckon to you and your rumbling tummy. Enter inside and you’ll feel even more welcome, the invitingly warm orange decor and pristine decoration creating a calming atmosphere where you can really relax. With the Tibetan Buddhist Vajradhara Meditation Centre just across the street from this Nepalese and Indian restaurant on Tai Wong Street East in Wan Chai, the peaceful surroundings seem appropriate. With this introduction, you’re ready to immerse yourself fully in the Himalayan experience, and you could hardly be in a better place in Hong Kong to do so, with fabulous versions of traditional Tibetan dishes (we can’t go past the smoky lamb sekuwa, marinated in a special sauce then barbecued Nepalese style) to go alongside their great range of meat, fish and vegetarian Indian dishes.
The food quality was very good. The size of the restaurant was a bit small but the quality and freshness were too good. The taste of the food is Royal.
