About FRITES - Central
Boy oh boy is it nice to hear good news! That was the feeling – or simply pure relief – among many a European food, culture and beer lover in Hong Kong when news broke that FRITES bar and restaurant has found a new home in Central. Occupying a large space on Wellington Street just steps from the escalator, FRITES is again ready to dish up Belgian beer, big-hearted cheer and superlative European food in the heart of the action. The new space is impressive, with interior design by Stephen Hart and unique crockery from Robert Gordon giving FRITES a stylish vibe, but as always it’s the amazing Belgian beer selection – over 80 choices, including traditional monk-in-a-monastery-made trappiste options – and gorgeous European food that makes FRITES hard to beat, from succulent sausages and schnitzels to their famous bucket of mussels with intriguing dressings. Try their express business lunch or take advantage of their five-hour happy ‘hour,’ but be sure to book because the buzz has begun!

Everything was very well executed. Highlight was the Chicken Parm and the Pork Knuckle. Most of the staff were friendly and attentive. Would come back again soon.
The food is excellent especially the french toast. I ordered salad and steak. Salad was well seasoned with balsamic dressing. The steak was a bit over cooked to medium but still very juicy and tender.
Good food! Good atmosphere! Loved the mussels, lamb racks and the good wife sausage so much! Big portion and wasn't too expensive! It is Highly recommended!
It's always value for money to visit Frites for lunch sets. Big portion, yummy food with great presentation, together with nice staff make it wonderful to be there. Only drawback is that it could be really noisy when they have full house.
Very busy on a Friday night. My booking was mixed up a bit but they got me my table anyway. Staff members are very friendly. Mussels and pig knuckle are sumptuous. Happy hour is a good chance to sample rare beers. Great vibe. Will definitely come again.
Good food, portions and set lunch. Very busy Friday lunch crowd with a number of walk ins waiting - fortunately we made a reservation. We had to chase down service a few times with it so busy. Great looking bar. Will be back.
We booked online and got confirmation even when the restaurant was full. The waitress took the teouble to call us shortly to inform us of a full house and apologiz . This is well appreciated
Great atmosphere, excellent mussels. Onion soup was a bit salty and watery, but generally very good. always good beer. Manager was very generous when we had to move tables. Overall still a great place
A hallmark of sort for Belgian fries in Hong Kong. Great place for a Friday lunch with colleagues and friends. I come back every so often and it is a very reliable fare.
This is the first time dine in this restaurant, all Englsh speaking. Their service is good. I come here for their mussels and roasted pig knuckle. They are delicious. I must back again.
Nice place for buddies gathering, reasonable price and perfect location. Only 5 mins walk to the nearest Sheung Wan MTR station. Will definitely re-visit in short.
Great atmoshphere, good food. Portions served are hearty. If you are a beer lover, then Frites is right up your alley with a good selection of beers native to Belgium.
The place is good. However, they don't have any table for 2 people. Not good for private discussion. Food is ok. Very large portion for lunch. Service can further improved.
Great food and portions. Good athmosphere and location near Central. Very large selection of international beers. Also kids friendly with a little playground in one of the dinning rooms.
Great venue for a family friendly dinner. Service was a bit slow but the waiters made it up to us by being extra attentive to our needs.
The setting is nice, especially at the balcony. Theee is a very wide selection of beers with good tasting notes. The menu is hearty and appealing.
Booked a table here for a group lunch. Overall was a good experience. Good food, attentive service, everything was as expected. Will definitely visit again.
Very kid friendly with a cute kids play area. Just surprising that they don't provide kids utensils for dining. Have a good day ahead everyone!
Food service was a little slow which was an issue with 2 small children wanting to eat. Still think it is strange that Kids play area is only at weekends - disappointing
Friendly staff, good food, amazing beer and great kids play area
