If you’re hoping for a change from High Street chains and cheap takeaways in Kirkcaldy, Fatma Restaurant and Grill House may be just the ticket. This cosy Kirkcaldy restaurant offer generous portions of healthy, authentic Lebanese grilled meats and vegetables, as well as a mouthwatering spread of, well, mouthwatering Middle Eastern spreads, bread and small bites. If you’re eating in a group, we suggest opting for some mezze platters of hummus, moutabal, warak inab, falafel, haloumi, batata harah and tabbouleh salad, because these are suitable for everyone (vegetarians and vegans included, if you skip the haloumi) and are a delicious way to get a little taste of a lot. Fatma also does great a la carte meals, though, whether we’re talking about their tasty cumin- and lemon-scented lentil soup for lunch, hefty lamb and spinach stew or irresistible knafeh (oven-baked shredded pastry, filled with cheese and drizzled with rose water syrup) for dessert.
Really different and varied menu which is very reasonably priced. We both ended up choosing the chicken liver with pomegranate starter which was cooked to perfection and delicious! The mixed schwarma (chicken and lamb), with rice, was really flavoursome; cooked with various herbs and spices (but not spicy hot). It came with salad and humous too, and the rice could be replaced with chips. The host (?owner) is very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be visiting again.
Always a pleasure to go to fatma! Staff is very friendly and very good food. Even when we do no go there for a evening meal we order on take away! Same quality and taste.
Last night was my second visit. I persuaded our friends to try it, they were a bit sceptical but they loved It. Samir and his staff were very friendly and the service and food fantastic. I will be back soon.
