It’s hard to think of anything befitting a Hong Kong business lunch better than delicious bowls of Japanese donburi, and it’s hard to think of anywhere in Yuen Long – or the entire New Territories – dishing them up tastier than Don Ya on Fung Yau Street North. Tucked away from the bustle of Yuen Long On Lok Road and Castle Peak Road, this trendy, stylishly designed Japanese joint hums with hungry crowds as if it’s right on the main drag. Have a taste and you’ll see why, though, because the sesame tofu salad, rainbow rolls, cool soba noodles and of course salmon, seared eel and yellowfin tuna donburi rice bowls are just some of the many things at Don Ya that we think, once you taste, you have to go back for.
