Private dining is all the rage in Hong Kong – it’s a singular pleasure to turn up at some speakeasy joint in a basement or even a stellar chef’s own home and be treated to a multi-course degustation menu full of gourmet surprises. Down here in Wong Chuk Hang, en route to Aberdeen as you come over the hill from Central, one of the city’s finest private kitchens can be found. Dine Art is the initiative of chef Cosimo Taddei, who has transformed a huge 4,000 square foot space up on the 16th floor of the rather grim-looking Kwai Bo Industrial Building along Wong Chuk Hang Road into an incredible combination of private kitchen and art space. A weekly lunch menu and Cosimo’s bespoke private dining menus are a riot of Italian flavour and colour, with the chef utilising many family recipes to bring Hong Kong diners something truly unique.
