About Côte Windsor

Brasserie (/ˈbrasəri/).
A type of French restaurant with a relaxed setting, which serves single dishes and other meals. No Côte Brasserie restaurant or location is bad looking, but Côte Brasserie in Windsor is nothing short of beautiful. Set next to Windsor Bridge you’ll find no spot more relaxing or more tranquil to enjoy fantastic French food. What’s more, as is the way at Côte Brasserie, the food is of astounding value which, quite clearly, makes for a win-win dining experience. Ingredients are fresh and prepared with love, this, coupled with Côte’s dedication to service make a trip to this historic Eton location a must. This restaurant gets very busy so we recommend making a reservation.

More about Côte Windsor, Windsor

Meander west along the River Thames for long enough and you’ll drift past the quaint and extremely pretty Côte Brasserie in Windsor. Should boating seem a little old school, however, then feel free to take the train as this French restaurant on High Street is a short bridge crossing away from Windsor & Eton Riverside train station. It’s also close to plenty of parks, scenic spots and, of course, Windsor Castle, meaning any trip out to Eton can be made even more splendid with the addition of an affordable French meal from Côte Brasserie.

Côte champions all-day dining meaning you can stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner and regardless of time, you can expect traditional French favourites as well as dishes that are slightly more region-specific. We are particular fans of the weekday lunch and early evening menu that offers two courses for £10.95 or three courses for £12.95 – nowhere else in Eton, Windsor or even the UK will you French food of such quality for such a fair price. A few of many highlights from the a la carte include a warm beetroot salad, risotto vert, roast duck breast served pink with a creamy potato gratin, as well as classic steak frites.

Friendly atmosphere, good food and lovely service. We used the 3 course menu for £13.50 and there was plenty of choice. The portions weren't huge, but there was more than enough to eat. The waiting staff were pleasantly attentive. Will certainly go back.

Excellent service despite it being very busy and the food was superb! A very delicious white wine La Place and my friend was enthusiastic about the Fish stew saying it exceeded his expectations. My steak was cooked to perfection!

Normally a visit to Côte Windsor is prior to the Theatre or just a quick drop in if we are in the area. This evening was by far the poorest meal and service that we have had. The waiter was slow and seemed to have his attention on a female staff member rather than his customers. There were only 4 people in that part of the restaurant at the time. Also he made no attempted to ascertain whether we had eaten there before and seemed incapable of taking the drinks and food order at the same time, adding substantially to the time before we received our meal. Two problems with it were the smoked salmon on sourdough toast should be relabled as smoked salmon on sourdough hard brick and the venison casserole was so dry that my wife left hers. We used to recommend Côte Windsor to anyone who asked us where to go in Windsor for a meal. We will now hesitate to do that again. :-(

My wife & I visited Côte Brasserie - Windsor and had a superb meal. Even better, we were given a complimentary bottle of wine. We had three courses and the pace of the meal was perfect. Service from the waiter/waitress was excellent. An observation is that Cote' is a modern decorated restaurant in the French style and the noise level from the guests talking can get quite loud as there are no soft furnishings and the wooden floors have no sound absorbing affect . Having said this it is no different in this respect from most eating places. What is different is the superb eating pleasure and we will continue to visit regularly.

Premises: very pleasant reception, promptly escorted to our table in pleasant and clean surroundings. Nice crisp linen napkin and bright cutlery Food; a good selection of dishes including and an excellent vegetarian menu, all made from superb quality ingredients well presented on attractive china ware, all 3 meals were deemed very tasty and of sensibly sized portions. Complementary stone bottles of water were a nice touch. Wine: also a relatively small selection we chose a medium dry white which was presented in a floor standing ice bucket and well chilled. Priced at £16.00 a bottle the quality was excellent thus good value. Service: the waiters were extremely competent and helpful and discreetly went about their work. An all round enjoyable dining experience, highly recommended this was my first visit to Cote Brasserie; would I return at a future date?... you bet, would I recommend the establishment?... certainly would.

We went as a table for two to be seated at 9.30. The restaurant was not busy and there appeared to be a reasonable number of staff waiting on in the part of the restaurant we were sat in. The service however was non existent. We were sat for 15 minutes and not one of the staff made eye contact to acknowledge us despite passing our table many times. In the end I had to shout down one of the waiters who simply told me that I wasn't at a table in his section. I told him to go and get the waiter that was serving my section. He disappeared and came back 5 minutes later and said the other waiter is busy. I then had to ask him fairly directly whether he could therefore take our order and get us some drinks given we had now been sat for 20 minutes. He got his pad out and took our order. I stress again the restaurant was not busy and there were more than enough staff to handle the covers in the room. There were just disorganised and not interested in serving there customers. Food was good and turned up fairly punctually once they had finally taken the order. When we had finished our main course we were again sat there with no-one bothering to clear our plates despite the waiters in the room running around generally flapping and being totally ineffective. We were not the only ones - another table close to us actually made a point of standing up and moving there own dirty plates onto a nearby empty set up table. Two more tables had to make complaints about the lack of service and one of these asked to speak to the manager as it was that bad. I couldn't be bothered to complain as I had decided we just wouldn't pay the service charge and go. Except we were still sat there after 20 minutes of finishing our main course waiting for the plates to be cleared. In the end I had to shout down a waiter and ask for them to be cleared. Then another 10 minute wait before we were offered a desert menu. I declined and asked for the bill. Waiter then seemed a little surprised when I told him to remove the service charge which is automatically added to the bill. Unreal that he was so unaware of his own shortcomings in service. This was simply the worst evening of service I had ever had in a restaurant. The management team need to ask some serious questions of themselves on the basis of this performance tonight.

Went to Cote Brasserie, Windsor on 11th Oct to celebrate my Mums 92nd Birthday with family. We live all over the country so nice to be together. Service was very good, food excellent and the staff even brought Mums cake in and sang to her. We ordered ice cream to go with the cake so the restaurant didn’t lose out. I made a comment when I booked that Mum was a bit immobile so could we sit in the top restaurant. Someone kindly phoned to say if she was in a wheelchair they had a disabled entrance at the back of the restaurant so she would also be near the toilets. I thought this was a very nice gesture. Only reason for marking down a bit was that we booked for 6.45 and one of the staff said if we weren’t all there by 7 then we couldn’t order from the early menu. As it happened we all ordered off the ordinary menu but nice greeting!!!

My friend and I arrived at 12.30 having already booked a table. We were offered a window table upstairs, which was already quite busy, or downstairs, where we would be on our own. We chose downstairs which, by the time we left at 2.00, was pretty full! We ordered our drinks, water for my friend, white house wine for me. We chose the £11.50 weekday lunch menu and, within a few minutes, we were invited to select our mains. I chose a pork dish and my friend opted for fish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. More drinks were offered before we chose our desserts. I chose a Normandy apple crumble, my friend a chocolate sponge. Again, we were delighted with them We had an excellent and enjoyable lunch, and felt it was excellent value for money.
