About Côte Oxford Circus - Market Place

“The authenticity of the food has been augmented by the simplicity of the design … The anchovy pissaladiere, the warm flat bread from Nice were nice and crisp and pungent, the duck, chicken, pork liver terrine was full of flavour … the lamb succulent”

As usual Cote delivers. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and very professional. Also the food was yummy and the champagne was rather good too.

Really nice service; attentive but not overbearing. Lovely food. We had the french breakfast and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and both were very nice.

If you are looking for an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street this is a perfect choice. Delicious food, perfect service and unbelievably good value for the centre of London

We arrived early but our table was ready. Staff were very polite and friendly. We had previously looked at the pre-theatre menu online and made our choices, so were a bit disappointed that the pre-theatre menu that was given to us was different. Also, it was more expensive but we didn't know that. However, there was a good choice of food including vegetarian options. Water was provided without having to ask, drinks and food were served quickly and we enjoyed our meal. When we received the bill, the meal price was not as expected because of the menu change. We pointed this out to the waiter and he explained that there was a choice of pre-theatre menus and the other one was on the back, but the menu we had been given only had the wine list on the reverse. We had not been given the option of the advertised menu, which was an oversight on their part. The waiter apologised and explained this to the manager who immediately knocked off the difference between the two menus. There was no hassle. We thought this was very fair and would return to this restaurant again as our overall experience was very good.

The location is great - just 3 mins walk from Oxford Circus. The restaurant is a pretty peaceful heaven away from the crazy crowds. The breakfast formula, served till 11.30, is great value - choose any cooked breakfast, any hot drink (includes flat white) and juice for £10.50. We ordered two yummy breakfasts - 1 full English, 1 Vegetarian. Portions are generous and consist of good quality ingredients. My veggie breakfast had two beautifully poached eggs on sour dough toast (yes!), ready to eat half an avocado sliced, tomato, spinach, mushroom and the tastiest veggie sausage I have probably ever had. None of that cardboard rubbish here. The only reason why I took a point off was the inflexibility of the waitress allowing my friend to swap out the brown or white toast for a slice of sour dough like mine.

A lunch time meal with a friend before a Wednesday Matinee Classic at the nearby Regents Street Cinema. Excellent selection on the lunchtime menu. We both chose Eggs Benedict as starter, which we both enjoyed very much. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked. I followed that with the tastey Toulouse Sausages with puy lentils. My friend had the chicken breast which was served with a wonderful mix of Mediterranean vegetables (fennel, yellow peppers, butternut squash) which were reported as "Delicious" We accompanied this with a glass of "house red" which was beautifully full. I am glad we had booked (on line and easy) as the restaurant filled up. Good food. Good service. Good value.

On ordering dinner, I was offered the Anniversary menu but declined as I don't drink alcohol or eat sugar. But on bringing our main course, the server called the manager to our table who cajoled me into ordering the Anniversary menu, saying they would substitute the champagne for as many non-alcoholic drinks as I'd like and he told the server to bring me another cranberry juice as soon as mine finished. As it happened, our server collected our main course plates and never returned to our table. I never got another cranberry juice or any other non-alcoholic drinks. I never got dessert. I eventually waved down a different server at the end of a ratger unattended evening and ordered tea and coffee. Then on leaving I was charged for the full Anniversary menu. I was also charged for my guest's beer, tea and coffee. Why didn't I complain? Because I was with an important client who, having travelled two hours to get to the medting, I didnt want to make uncomfortable. A shame. Because I regularly have business meetings over lunch and dinner at your Cote branch. Unless this has a fairer outcome, I'm not sure I will again. Debi Bester CEO Department of Change

Our meal at Cote, Great Portland Street today was delicious and the service was excellent. I met three college friends and we all enjoyed lunch very much. The bill was very reasonable and although we lingered over lunch we were not hurried by the staff. We particularly enjoyed the delicious apple crumble and icecream and liked the way it was presented. This was a very good experience and we shall return when we are next in London. Well done Cote! Keep up the high standard and the delightful ambience. We promise to tell all our friends to eat in Cote.
