Just behind the HKU MTR Station on South Lane, COBO HOUSE by 2am:dessertbar shines as one of the most progressive restaurants Hong Kong has ever seen. Led by Janice Wong, the same chef who turned Singapore’s culinary scene on its head with 2am:dessertbar, this gourmet restaurant covers 3,000 square feet over two floors and has seating for up to 82 guests. Along with progressive cuisine comes incredible style at this Shek Tong Tsui hotspot, leaving diners in awe with its sleek contemporary design, modern furnishings and fine art lining the walls.
Each and every option at COBO HOUSE by 2am:dessertbar looks like a work of art, and that includes the drinks – the Chocolate Bomb, for example, is a stunning chocolate ball containing Bourbon whiskey inside – and especially the desserts. The menu changes often depending on what’s fresh in the restaurant’s Okinawa sea and sand garden (the first in Hong Kong), but you can expect to be met with gourmet dishes like their ‘Mushroom Garden’ with coffee soil and truffle shiitake puree, mantis prawn with parmesan risotto, or succulent wagyu with edible mushroom paper printed with Janice Wong’s favourite poem. A visit to COBO HOUSE by 2am:dessertbar simply would not be complete without a sampling of desserts, so don’t neglect to indulge in an order of sweet and salted popcorn with yuzu parfait and passion fruit sorbet or a taste of the Gai Daan Zai dessert which Chef Wong creates exclusively for diners here in Shek Tong Tsui. Needless to say, reservations are an absolute must for this sleek modern restaurant set to take over Hong Kong. Book your experience today.

Lunch + Dessert = Yum 😍😋 From starter to dessert, everything's really good! 😉👍🏼
Can't get over their dessert so we came back the next day for lunch! 😋👍🏼
Excellent! Like an art tour for food. The food taste good and the presentation is awesome. Good atmosphere and the place is full of nice details. Highly recommended!
Great food presentation and food tastes good. Service was great despite going there with two young children. Desserts were, as usual, the highlight even for lunch.
The service is ok. The deco. of restaurant with simple and white wall color that is neat and comfortable but the space was rather small comparing to pictures in food blogs. Originally, I expected that the main course won't be as good as dessert because from my experience, most of restuarants won the reward of dessert that are bad on main dishes. However, here is surprised me. Especially I ordered the dish is seafood - perch! I love that perch with freshness! Chili Choco is cool ! Lovely lunch! My friends also appreciate with my choice! Keep going and move to the BIG one! =))
We received a warm greeting as we arrived, which is always a good start. The dining room is very elegant. I heard a lot about the dessert here, I ordered Shades of Green, it was so light and good combination with pandan ice cream and coconut mousse . I also had a main - mantis prawn, the temperature was perfect, and the plating was like a painting! I was surprised that their main is also good as dessert! I will definitely come back soon again.
I have heard a lot about this restaurant lately and decided to check it out. It was such a great experience. Their food quality was totally out of my expectation because I was thinking it is well-know for their desserts, but their main course did give me surprise! I ordered Scallop Somen and it was amazingly awesome! This meal totally completed by whole weekend and am looking forward to my next visit!
"Beautiful and unique restaurant concept! I've been looking forward to trying this place, and it really lived up to my expectations. I enjoyed the lightness in the starter Crab, and the flat iron for the main was full of flavor. Chili chocolate for the dessert was very interesting, you felt the kick in your throat while still able to taste the after taste of the chocolate. An experience full of surprises."
Singapore home grown chef - Janice Wang Restaurant in HK owned by the 3rd generation of New World Group. Food is not bad and is creative and artistic in presentation. Menu is simple but I believe it is well curated. The duck breast and scallop soman is not disappointed. Deserts are less desirable than we have tasted in Singapore. Albert Cheng
Food is nice! Slow cooked pork belly and malt ice-cream are my favourites! King trumpet mushroom is soo fresh and i love the mushroom creamcheese sauce as well. For the crab tomato jelly, i wish it could be softer however it may not be strong enough to stand on its own shape. Chilli chocolate for dessert, it's interesting together with peanut butter and honeycomb but it could be less spicy :P the Malt ice-cream is surprisingly delicious, i would love to have the ice-cream again soon.
Good food but portions are small despite the price tag. We were a little disappointed on our second visit - they were out of the potato soup even though we were one of the first seated for dinner (they only have two soup flavors), and later we saw another table being served potato soup... Cobo house is worth one or two visits as an experience, but they need to offer better value if they want to encourage regulars.
Such beautiful dishes! Build your own 3-course is great value vs a la carte. Potato soup is definitely worth trying and desserts are excellent! Mantis prawn risotto was delicious. The only let down was the cod did not taste fresh and was rather fishy, though was beautifully presented too.
Good tasting and pretty to look at. Service attentive when needed. Should be particularly popular with those who like to take photos of their food. Small art gallery worth visiting above the coffee shop.
It was almost a shame to eat the dessert. It looked like a work of art. After I finish admiring its looks it tasted fantastic with many different favours and textures to enjoy.
Nice restaurant in a unique spot. The food was good, but not mindblowing. Presentation and service were good as well and would probably go back again in a future visit to Hong Kong with my wife.
Great dining experience! ordered the set lunch - the 'mushroom garden' was a pleasant surprise, the beef cheek was very tender, and the 'shades of green' was beautiful. we were very pleased with the meal
The desserts are something of beauty! We travelled from South Africa to Hong Kong to try the offerings at Cobo House. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.
the tremendous effort overall - a thoughtful menu with lots of delightful details in the plating and presentatioj of each dish ! green tea tart is a must.
Had a dinner experience here, hospitality is great, decor is simple but yet elegant. Server is very patient and well knowledge with the dishes and try the best to meet our special diet request. Will definitely come back for desserts.
Nice food, nice ambience, nice service. Particularly love the mushroom garden. It's just like a piece of art. Both my husband and i did enjoy the lunch there. Will be visiting soon.
