More about the restaurant: 重慶燒燒烤專門店 Chung King BBQ Restaurant - Mong Kok
Hidden away just off Nathan Road on Portland Street is an absolute must-try restaurant for anybody curious of delving deeper into the intricacies of Chinese barbecue. Chung King BBQ Restaurant is ideally located for a meal after or in between shopping trips, halfway between Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok MTR stations, while it suits large groups well and has plenty of beer to keep the festivities flowing for a late-night gathering. Still, the food is the main event, and it’s impressive – the style is Sichuan and Chongqing skewered barbecue, a niche of Chinese barbecue almost impossible to find elsewhere in Hong Kong. Over 50 different items of fresh seafood and all cuts of meat are offered up to grill, not to mention vegetables, served with unique blends of spices and fresh herbs. Everything is cooked to order at Chung King BBQ Restaurant, and there are some irresistible non-barbecue items too, including baked broccoli or scallops with cheese and truffle, or foie gras with crispy toast.
