Had dinner with my better half and as usual food is fantastic, authentic and the staff are lovely. I made a crazy request and they accommodated in ways we never expected - with a birthday cake for our twin cats! Brilliant place. One of our restaurants.
The decoration is very nice. Friendly staff. Service is also very good, but not suitable for little children. The lights are a little bit too dark.
So if you’re heading to Chaiwala Hong Kong on Wyndham Street in Central, you are in for a very delicious time indead. But let’s delve a little bit deeper into the Indian food offering at Chaiwala, then shall we? We highly suggest kicking things off with some small plates like the cheese chaska balls that are spiced and deep fried; Bombay buns with roughly minced lamb served in hot buttered buns and the Chinapara chicken wings that are chargrilled then wok tossed with chilli, garlic and scallions. Getting hungry yet? Then, for the main event how about some lobster neerulli with charred lobster, South Indian spices, tomato, pearl onions, lobster claw rice and vegetable poriyal? Or, perhaps the paneer lasagna makhni with grilled cottage cheese, aubergine and green peas layered in silky tomato sauce is more to your taste? No matter what it’s all going to be delicious, so we’ll see you at Chaiwala!
