There are more than a few celebrity haunts to be found in the city of Hong Kong, but few places where the food itself is the star. The chef, Cheng Kam Fu, is something of a notable himself, and his reputation does somewhat precede him. He’s been in the game since 1973, and has established himself as the best chef that you’ve never heard of, with 20 years of top quality private kitchen cooking behind him and a legion of endorsements from clients all over the world. His take on Chinese cuisine is exceptional, so head on down to Lan Kwai Fong Hotel on Kau U Fong in Sheung Wan: just remember to book a table first, as they do get crowded on occasion.

Whether you like some notable nosh, some famed food, some well-known victuals, a spot of luminary lunch or a superstar scran, then Celebrity Cuisine is the place to be for you in Hong Kong. Their restaurant is a classy joint: situated in the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel on Kau U Fong in the heart of Sheung Wan, they offer Michelin-mentioned food of a Chinese bent that is the envy of plenty in the city. The head chef, Cheng Kam Fu, has built quite the menu, so let us talk you through a little of what you can expect to come across when you cross the threshold at Celebrity Cuisine in Sheung Wan.
This is a classically Cantonese restaurant, and that means that seafood and poultry are the stars of Celebrity Cuisine. Chicken is baked in Shaoxing wine, resulting in a tender bird with a crispy skin, and their abalone with oyster sauce is exceptional, even among the myriad Chinese restaurants of Hong Kong. The house signature is the “Bird’s Nest in Chicken Wing”, so make sure you pick up a portion of that when you head on over to Celebrity Cuisine in the boutique Lan Kwai Fong Hotel on Kau U Fong in Sheung Wan. This is a double-Michelin starred restaurant with a very limited seating capacity, so we cannot recommend booking in advance highly enough. Reserve a table now and prepare yourself for a decadent meal.
Excellent food and service! The restaurant has a nice and cozy atmosphere. The people are very attentive and helpful. They looked after us very well and made sure we were well fed and happy. Everything we ordered tasted very good and pace of food coming out was just right. Definitely one of my favourites in HK!
Great food, great service, stand out dishes are the crab, lobster, ku lou pork, fried rice. Wine menu could be better. One think caugjt us by surprise is the very expansive condiments.
