北豆 - Hong Kong Skewers

Bean, or The Beans, depending on how you count them, is a sweet little restaurant in North Point that offers up a fusion of Asian and European cuisines courtesy of the Hong Kong Skewers family of eateries. This cool eatery, like the various plants in the botanical families Fabaceae and Leguminosae, is heliotropic, following the sun and seasons to offer a plethora of fresh food for discerning diners. Whet your appetite like the French do with pan-fried foie gras (on toast), or as the Southeast Asians do, with Thai-style minced pork (in a lettuce cup). Snack on some pea-sized burgers, cheese balls, or the breaded claws of crabs. Take a trip to Italy with the clams and squid ink pasta in a creamy sauce, or follow Marco Polo back to China with the Chinese-style gristle noodles. In truth, there’s hardly a bean on the menu – but it ain’t gonna cost you one either – Bean’s Kam Ping Street address, in the Tung Fat Building, is known for its great value.
