Charming restaurant with delicious Mediterranean food. Staff couldn't be nicer. Interesting menu, a number of well-chosen meze appetizers, all good, entrées delicious, and nice wines. Pleasant atmosphere in what used to be a furniture store.
Food was great as well as wine. (First time trying for organic wine and pretty good.) Waitress was even nicer. We had a great time. Will definitely visit again.
There is a plethora of ways to enjoy the fruits of the South China Sea in Hong Kong, with fish and seafood on offer in every restaurant in the city. At Bayta, however, their focus is on a different ocean altogether, with a Mediterranean menu packed with the delicacies of the deep spanning from Greece, Turkey and Lebanon all the way over to Spain and Italy. You can reach them via the train station at Sheung Wan or Sai Ying Pun – they’re between the two on Hollywood Road – and when you make your appearance, you can be sure of a feed that is well worth getting excited about. Let us talk you through the menu.
Bayta offer up homemade bread, and that is the logical place to start your meal on Hollywood Road. Follow it up with a vegetables & goat cheese terrine, before moving onto some sea bass a la plancha, cooked Spanish style and served up with a cauliflower declination. Make sure you pair your meal with some of Bayta’s wines: there is a huge range to choose from, sourced from all around the world. Book your table now and head on over to Sheung Wan for some of the finest Mediterranean food available anywhere in Hong Kong.
