Mediterranean cuisine is somewhat underrepresented in Hong Kong, but Awtar aims to change that. Bringing the flavours of Lebanon, Turkey, Greece and southern Europe to Staunton Street, this trendy restaurant gives diners the chance to sample an array of different Mediterranean dishes all under one opulently decorated roof. Located in the Soho area of Central, this restaurant has been creating quite a buzz, so book a table and see what it’s all about.
Great shisha and cocktails - went for a classic grape mint which was smooth and the flavor lasted pretty long. Cocktails are well crafted and delicious! Food was a bit of a miss though, some of the hot dishes arrived a bit cold.
Love that they have a nice cocktail list. My friend ordered Mary Rose which was special and delicious!
Sheeshas werent as great as reviews otherwise suggest about the place. Service was good except for the guys asking you to keep your feet off the seat repeatedly.
At this Mediterranean restaurant on Hong Kong’s Staunton Street, traditional decor and Turkish lamps inspired by the Ottoman Empire have been given a chic update, creating a stylish and relaxed atmosphere to dine in. Set over two chic floors, Soho’s Awtar offers guests a taste of the cuisines from Turkey, Lebanon, Greece and Southern Europe, featuring dishes including crevettes provencale (pan-sauteed shrimp with garlic and coriander sauce) and classics like dolmas (vine leaves stuffed with slow-cooked pilaf and tomatoes).
Once you’ve finished dining at Awtar in Central, relax in the stunning surroundings while sipping on a premium cocktail or two whipped up by the bar’s professional mixologists, such as an almond coffee martini or the mango sour, a mouthwatering blend of your choice of Absolut or Grey Goose vodka, mango, lemon juice and egg white. Further set the mood for your evening at Soho’s Awtar with some shisha, which is available in a variety of fruity flavours and has been specially flown into Hong Kong from the UAE.
